Three Days Away!

14 Mar

The 2nd Annual Clifford House Artisan Market is just three days away! The market is planned for Saturday, March 17th from 10am – 4pm.

The Market takes place on the grounds of the Historic Clifford House in Downtown Eustis. We are right next to the Eustis Community Center.

The large tents went up today, so look for a beautiful old house with two large tents in front and you’ve found us. If not, put “536 North Bay Street” into your GPS and find us that way.

For the day of the event, we will have parking signage and other signage on the main entries to help you find your way.

Our 45+ artisans will be waiting to show off their amazing work on Saturday, starting at 10am, so don’t forget us!

Almost Sold Out

7 Mar

There are only two spaces left for Artisans at the March 17th show.  If you are waiting to register, don’t!

If we get a big demand, we will add a section.  However, it will require a few more artisans to make it worthwile.  We don’t want to hang anyone out by themselves where they won’t be visited.

Updated Layout!

29 Feb

We have updated our layout for the 2012 Market.

You can click here to see it in full glory:  2012 Artisan Market Layout

Here’s a quick snapshot:

There are a few changes from last year, most notably the addition of several large tents.  These tents will each hold six artisans, with all booths backed up to each other and the artisans facing out.  As of noon, February 29th, there is only one of these spaces still available.  The charge is $80 and that includes table and chair.

We have eliminated the row of spaces facing the lake.  This will allow those on the lake side of the house to face the sidewalk and have the back of their booth open.  The spaces on the street side benefited from some “compression” which made the space feel very dense for the attendees, attracting them to visit all the vendors there.  With the addition of the food court area at one end (where our musicians will also be playing) we believe this will give all visitors a reason to visit all the way to the end.  Olivia’s Coffeehouse will have her stuff set up at that end, with scrumptious food for vendors and attendees alike.

Come visit us on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 for a beautiful day on the grounds, with wonderful entertainment and some awesome art by local artisans!

What is the Artisan Market?

24 Jan

What is an Artisan Market?
Held at the historic Clifford House, the Artisan Market is a collection of artisans from Central Florida and beyond.  Most artisans will have items for sale.

Why an artisan market and not an “art show?’
Because the phrase “art show” suggests a juried contest with only fine artists represented.  Our show encompasses everyone from  painters and potters to paper artists and polymer clay fanatics.  Not only do we welcome all artisans, but we’re much less expensive than traditional art shows.

So how much does it cost?
You can reserve a 10’x10′ space for just $25 for the day.  If you want space under one of our big tents, you’ll pay an additional $55, but that gets you shelter and a table/chair combo.  Just bring your artwork and you’re ready to show and sell.

Will anyone show up?
With minimal advertising and competition from several other local events, we still had respectable traffic last year.  However, this year we have planned a wider marketing effort.  Beyond posters and press releases, we will have several paid advertisements in local publications, as well as roadside signage announcing the event in advance of and on the day of the event.

Where is the Clifford House?
Located next to the Eustis Community Center, the Clifford House is on Lake Eustis in downtown.  The building is easily spotted from Highway 19 (Bay Street) and features ample parking in adjacent and nearby lots.  The 100-year old house is a draw in its own right, as it is the current home of the Eustis Historical Museum.

Can I see some pictures of what it looked like last year?
Sure.  Here they are.
